Zero Scrollerance?
Okay, I need your help. This blogging thing is so new to journalism (not to everyone else, but to some of us) that I need to know: Do you agree that scrolling is just no big deal? Here’s the latest from the Poynter Institute on that. I ripped it off blogmeister Terry Heaton’s PoMo Blog.  He won’t mind. Or else.
The situation: Today, I was trying to track via satellite locals competing in the Boston Marathon. At the same time, I had three other posts I could have thrown up for you. Would you rather I stay with one subject or would you rather scroll down and see if there are other subjects you consider more comment-worthy? You can handle more than one topic a day, right? Or am I going to get, “Dang it, I was still on the Boston Marathon and you go and throw some crud about scrolling up there, then make me scroll like there’s no tomorrow to get to Boston?” Â
I don’t want to read some fancy poll on what you want. Tell me what you want. Thanks!    Â

If you have time to check online every day new topics are no big deal, but if you check every couple of days like me, you can start to feel behind.

McCafferty: Colonel, is it true you authorized the scrolling?
Jessup: Truth, you can’t handle the truth. You talk about things like scrolling, posting and blogging when the truth is, you can only read and comprehend something that spans the normal dump.
McCafferty: We deserve the truth did you authorize the scrolling!
Jessup: YOU’RE DAMN RIGHT I DID!
