You Say Tomata. I Say Salmonella.
I love tomatoes straight off the vine even more than my Uncle Guy, who wrote the song, “Homegrown Tomatoes”. He told me, “You know that’s a love song.” Oh, I know what good is.Â
So imagine my sadness at the salmonella incidents ripening as we speak. Six new cases were reported in NY today.Â
Now, imagine my reaction to my sweet neighbor handing me some homegrown tomatoes, “What? Are you trying to kill me?”Â
Not to worry, says the FDA.  Click here for the feds’ advice on tomatoes safe to eat. Â

Hey Sherri! I know this is late.. but I was just reading some of your old posts and I saw Amanda’s story. St. Jude is an AMAZING place, my brother had A.L.L. he was diagnosed at age 10 and “cured” at age 17.He is 30 now and is still in remission. Praise God! He is a MIRACLE!! Me and my family actually won the very first St. Jude dream home, mom was just calling to buy a ticket just to support St. Jude and we actually won… it was crazy. Anyways, I just wanted to say, that touches my heart and i will be praying for Amanda. St. Jude is such a great cause I wish more people would join the fight against childhood cancer! Thanks for sharing..

Wow, Jen, thanks for such an inspirational story. Would your family be interested in letting me profile your story as one of my ArkLaTex Miracle Workers reports? http://www.ktbs.com/ArkLaTex-Miracle-Workers/
Take a look at some of the stories and call or email me at the station if your brother agrees!

I have been eating tomatoes with reckless abandon since this latest salmonella outbreak. So far so good.

CT, even the ones from Florida? Dang, you sure live on the edge. First Wallaby fisticuffs, then laughing in the face of a salmonella scare.
