Who are Hazel and Jimmy?

twins.jpgHelp!

These twins (see in this site’s header) were, according to an antique shop  owner, born in the 1950s.  Their picture, which I bought, was painted in maybe the 1950s.  It was bought at an estate sale in the 1990s or early 2000s in Shreveport.  That doesn’t mean the freaky twins were born in Shreveport.

Time to call in the forces.  Please forward this to your elderly relatives.  What if they remember???? Just what if????  Could they be Hazel and Jimmy?

Besides, isn’t it time we get some wisdom and depth to this site?  Elderly bloggers…bring it!  Jody, especially, needs some lifeskillz-help!

Me, too.  Seriously,  I really can take all I can get….c’mon!

Oh, Lord, I hope we have some bloggers who can impart some wisdom!   Who are Hazel and Jimmy?

the pic of the leslie twins is not 1950’s. more like 1920’s or 30’s. i’ve got gazillions of old pics of my family from waaaaaaay back and judging from hairstyle, clothing and glasses, i’d say at the least pre World War 2 ……. ‘elderly bloggers’….hummmmmm i guess at 57 im as elderly as your gonna get. as far as lifeskillz……heh heh…..i’ve made more mistakes and learned from them than most people.

Tommy, okay…I get your take on the Leslie twins. What about Hazel and Jimmy? Where do we start on finding their identity?

  3. HRB Says:

sherri, weren’t you born in the 50’s?

  4. Sherri Says:

Yes, I was…(she said proudly), but I don’t remember Hazel and Jimmy! Stick to the issue, HRB!

genealogy dept of the shreve library, broadmoor branch. if they wuz born anywhere near here u can find out there.

on the other hand…..i’ve got a theory… in the 1920’s the ringling bros. circus wintered in shreveport. (check with eric brock if u dont believe me) two water-headed babies escaped from their cage at the freak show and were tracked to somewhere near querbies golf course where they disappeared. they grew up in the then wilds of rural broadmoor. one (jimmy) grew up to be a police chief here and hazel was reported to have had been the mistress of governor huey long.
gov long: ” hey hazel, i’d like a little head.”
hazel: ” me to govenor….mines big as a watermelon.”

….as a semi-creative guy,the picture (original oil painting)the artist name is un-legible…i have a theory as an artist i think this may have been this artist first attempt at baby portaits after work only doing older subjects….resulting in the creepy old baby look….but i really like tommy’s take thinkin that an up and coming artist may have painted the babies during a Ringling Bros. stop over….and upon seeing the looks of disgust at the unveiling the artist stormed away but not before HE threw open the cage doors and sent Hazel and Jimmy free.

their true past is unknown and widely speculated….

  8. theBoyfriend Says:

…..the artist was not alone ,he had help from a bueatiful browneyed ballriena turned areial silk ribbon preformer to set Hazel and Jmmy free….

You need to take that painting to the Antique Road Show. They know everything.

  12. sherri Says:

Yeah…what if? I am going to take those two on the road…I need some answers.

    Tommy, 57 isn’t elderly.

Are you going to start collecting portraits of twins? This could get really weird.

  14. Jay Says:

….i fear that when it comes to Hazel and Jimmy’s past that Chuck Norris and a roundhouse kick was involed.
