CT - really bummed that the glasses did not work - the Town South idea would have been great. Can't believe you found copy of the add. However, even if they would HAVE worked, the $1.25 would have been about 30+ coke bottles to turn in before we would have had enough funds.

I desperately wanted the x-ray glasses as a kid. I had plans of using them at Town South Swim Club. My dream was crushed when I tested a pair out at "The Fun Shop" and found that they did not allow you to see through clothes (or anything else).

I'd like to know if anyone actually got the x-ray glasses!

George, I remember the rocks! The seahorses were awesome. They were tiny. I was amazed they lived for so long. Lots of maintenance involved with the salt water.

Ha...prank phone calls before caller ID!

We used to call people at random and tell them we were "whomever" with local BR radio station (whatever the cool radio station was back then - guess it was KEEL up here during that time). We would tell them we were going to play a clip from a song and if they could name that song, they would win a prize (prizes ranged from lucrative cash to a new car, depending on how generous we felt on any given day). We would then lower the turntable arm and play the part of this song "Raindrops keep falling on my head" and then pick up the arm - "Can you name that song"? You would not beleive how many people DID NOT know the song?? GO figure. However, we did give away cash and a new VW Bug a couple of times.
