Several locals are in this movie. KTBS 3’s Trish Williford has a line. I play a reporter who doesn’t speak (don’t you wish the movies were real). Anyway, here’s a glimpse.

i would never go see that slant trap in the first place. however, I find it interesting that someone who alleges to want to get OUT of the spotlight, and live a “humble” life, currently finds herself on the big screen? then, boasts on a blog about it?
July 30th, 2008 at 8:05 am
Mr. President, you read my blog!
July 30th, 2008 at 8:21 am
Looks like you may be a member of the Axis of Evil now Sherri.
July 30th, 2008 at 8:42 am
Maybe they make cool Axis of Evil widgets I can put on my blog.

I am sorry, I know you guys are in it, but I hope this movie loses millions of dollars so that Hollywood will figure out that people don’t hate Bush as much as they do. Just the trailer is horrible! I had no intentions of seeing it and after seeing that there is no way in hell I would see it.
July 30th, 2008 at 10:42 am
What’s wrong with the trailer? I didn’t see anything anti-Bush there. His early life is well known and acknowledged by Bush himself. I’m looking forward to seeing it.
July 30th, 2008 at 10:46 am
Yeah, Ken, Oliver Stone definitely has an agenda, even pushing this movie’s wrap and release ahead of elections.
July 30th, 2008 at 10:51 am
The L.A. Times quotes Stone, “I love Michael Moore, but I didn’t want to make that kind of movie. W. isn’t an overly serious movie, but it is a serious subject. It’s a Shakespearean story… I see it as the strange unfolding of American democracy as I have lived it. [Bush] won a huge amount of people to his side after making a huge amount of blunders and really lying to people. We are trying to walk in the footsteps of W and try to feel like he does, to try to get inside his head. But it’s never meant to demean him.”
July 30th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
i will go see this to see sherri act as a stud reporter,(she does her own stunts),but i hope to take her to see dark knight batman movie before the W date.
July 30th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
I’ll view the movie AND THEN, I’ll make up my OWN mind about it; rather than disregard it altogether. It’s become so in this country as of late, that to make up your own mind is damn near a crime. If it truly isn’t a SERIOUS account; then so be it.
Granted, considering that the original release date was around the beginning of 2009; it’s very “eyebrow-raising” to see how the film is now being touted for release just ahead of the Fall elections.
If anything, it may be worthy entertainment in line with a Saturday Night Live (SNL) production…in that case, then I’ll at least get a good laugh WITHOUT taking the movie so serious. As for George W. himself, I’m sure that he’s got to be quite accustomed to parody and tell-all books after 8 years in one of the most powerful seats in the world. He’s been parodied and ridiculed from Leno to Letterman to SNL; and criticized on various news networks at one time or another….and each time, he takes it all in stride; and keeps on going. The President may comment on the film; OR he may shrug it off altogether (my money would be on the latter).
Either way, I respect each person’s decision to EITHER see the film or NOT see the film. Looking at the trailer, I can DEFINITELY see why George W. supporters would be upset (to put it mildly). But then again, I don’t think this is in line with..say..”The Last Temptation of Christ”…remember that gem of a production that brought out all kinds of protesters??
There have been other Presidents who’ve had big-screen productions and made-for-T.V. movies made about them. Some flattering; some not so flattering. So was George W. the first presidential subject on the big-screen?? NO. Will he be the last?? Probably not.
July 30th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
I am not a huge George Bush supporter, but I have a problem with Oliver Stone promoting it as not having an agenda when it absolutely does. And as far making up your own mind, I think movies like this are an example of how liberals want people to think only like them and they don’t want them to make up their own minds. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from watching it, but it doesn’t even look like good production quality, just not interested until I hear what people say about it.
July 30th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
were you the extra dancing on the table in the trailer?
July 30th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
Sherri - did I miss something? I didn’t see either of us in this trailer!! Don’t they want people to come out and watch this? Geez!!!
July 30th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
I know! And our parts were so riveting! You said a sentence. I was walking. It doesn’t get more compelling than that.
July 30th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
craig day, that was Trish in that scene, not me.
July 30th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
sherri…you mean that was jody dancing? she didn’t try to sneak in because she was jealous of you and trish?
July 30th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
I know this will come as a shock to the screen-viewing world, but here goes. Everything thing you see is NOT real, did NOT happen and will NEVER be an actual account. It’s the ENTERTAINMENT industry; not the ARCHIVING OF FACTUAL MATERIAL industry. See a movie, watch the tube, get a life!

This is fun. Let’s talk about religion next.
July 30th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
I work next to an Arctic Muslim.
July 30th, 2008 at 6:02 pm
Yea it doesn’t look like the best movie in the world. I wonder if Stone tries to suggest in the movie that W was behind the Kennedy assassination.
Oh, to the commenter above who hopes Hollywood realizes that people don’t hate Bush: When was the last time you looked at approval rates? People do hate Bush, and it’s not just Democrats.
July 30th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
….CT no lets talk about wombats startin religous cults.
July 30th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
…sherri –your so humble …walking.
you were walking allday long and carrying a micro-phone pointin it at the actor that plays W (later to be arrested in a stray-cat fight with SPD) doing numerous takes falling down once gettin stepped on,all while wearing high-heels….
…course im leavin out the part of eatin O.Stones catered food.
just walking….Trish couldnt touch that role.
July 30th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
Oh yeah, I forgot about all the set horror stories, Jay. Trish just breezed in and got her close up and more $ for a speaking role.
I got there on my vacation day at 5:30 a.m.–13-hours of work for less than minimum wage as an extra.
They did my hair and makeup to look like it did in the 80s–like a really big, fluffy parrot. I was the only real reporter in the outside news conference scene. The actors from Dallas playing reporters got the speaking parts. One of them (with lots of breast augmentation) stepped on my foot as we were walking backwards and I hit the concrete! Got back up and finished the scene.
For lunch, we were held over rehearsing, so I missed the lunch instructions and wound up innocently violating protocol by going through the lunch line WITH the crew and not waiting with the other extras! I thought there would be a public hanging, but somehow, I’m still here.
Then, I got busted speaking poorly of my role, right in front of Mr. Stone.
Despite the probability that I’ll never act in this town again, I’m so glad I had the chance to experience this once. The work of an extra makes for a long day, but is fascinating.
And the people I worked with (three of whom were later arrested at Stray Cat in downtown Shreveport) exhibited just as much Southern Hospitality as most of us did.
July 30th, 2008 at 7:10 pm
Wait a minute Sherri, did you just say that an actress from Dallas with a couple of “Golden Globes” stepped on your foot as you were walking backwards?? To have that kind of talent, I’m sure she probably gets a lot of (acting) jobs..lol!!
July 30th, 2008 at 7:29 pm
bada bing, that whole scene behind the scenes was comical in my mind, but I didn’t know if others would see it that way. For sure, that particular scene won’t make it to the screen. How great if it did!
July 30th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Ken is my new hero. You don’t happen to be a veluptuous singel female just using the code name Ken, do you? If so, can we fool around? If you are in fact a man….cough, cough, say something manly, ahem, how about them Saints.
July 30th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
I did a day as an extra as did my Dad and my husband. I’m going to see the movie just to prove that all three of us did not make a single scene!
July 30th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
i was a presidential aide helping bush clear cedar trees from the crawford ranch. i watched josh brolin cut down the same tree 6 times. he’s pretty good with a chainsaw and could start it himself. got redbug bites on my ankles and we were warned to be on the watch for snakes.
July 30th, 2008 at 8:46 pm

…so funny! I’m a diner in a restaurant scene and I got busted taking pictures. got a couple of video’s too..I’d hate to get sued for posting them, what do you think?
July 30th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Sherri - I actually got that fat check for my “speaking role” the other day…and yes, I DID spend it all in one place. I LOVED the way Oliver (yes, I refer to him by his first name only) directed me…he was SOOO GENTLE.

the scene is at Sammy’s restaurant on N. Market in Shreveport..In the film it will be Sammy’s in Midland, Texas in the early 80’s. W is having lunch. As you can see from the trailer W liked to have fun. While he eating an evangelist walks into the restaurant parking lot carrying a life sized Cross on his shoulder like Jesus did. W gets saved in this scene. It’s a very intense scene and at the end of it I walk in with my wife, both smiling to lighten the mood and cut.

HRB, I can’t freaking wait for the Saints, I am so glad football season is here. I am going to New Orleans in two weeks for a preseason game and a weekend on the town. But thanks for the offer.
July 31st, 2008 at 2:43 pm
The voice of the Dallas Cowboys also got one of the reporters’ roles. He’s a longtime radio sportscaster in Dallas.

Do the Saints have a shot this year? I hear they look pretty good.
July 31st, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Well, I was an aid to Condoleezza Rice in the movie and I was there for the tree cutting scene, luckily I was in a Secret Service Suburban, most of the presidential aides were cutting and clearing wood in the 100 degree heat for two hours. While scoping out the woody area of the shoot earlier in the day some of us extras were standing around, and Oliver felt the call of nature and I was privilidged to see a part of Oliver most people probably haven’t experianced (yes I feel that I can now call him Oliver, and not Mr. Stone). And Josh did cut down a tree, they dug a hole with a big hole digger and with another machine stuck the tree back in it, and he kept cutting it down and they kept digging a new hole and sticking it back in. Now thats acting! I wonder if George Washington had as many takes cutting down the cherry tree.
July 31st, 2008 at 9:55 pm
10-4 on the 100 degree heat. yeah i saw ollie wizz behind the tree. if i hadent been sweating so much i woulda needed one to. and the production asst was a prissy lil prick too! josh brolin was a nice guy as far as i could tell. and for whatever reason i had to shave off my mustache for this part.
July 31st, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Yeah, Josh Brolin seemed real nice and easy to work with.
July 31st, 2008 at 11:49 pm
The Saints look great for this season. Ussama Young will probably sure up the other corner across from McKenzie and Vilma along with Fujita will give them a solid linebacker core which they have needed. They also will have one of the best front four on defensive line this year with the addition of Sedrick Ellis and Charles Grant might even play inside this year which shows how deep they are. They are also very impressed with Meachum so far this camp and think he may be exactly what they need for 3rd WR instead of Henderson dropping passes and they have one of the top 10 offensive lines in the league this year so Drew will have plenty of time to throw the ball. They should be a legitimate contender in the NFC.
August 2nd, 2008 at 8:37 pm
Why do we keep talking about the Saints? Are they in the film?
August 3rd, 2008 at 6:03 pm
Sorry Mel, I was answering HRB’s question.
August 3rd, 2008 at 9:16 pm
And Mel was being funny! Ken, hijacking of topics is encouraged here. Rock on.
August 4th, 2008 at 9:41 am
I’m sorry for hijacking your topic Sherri.
August 4th, 2008 at 9:48 am
No problem! Hijack away!
August 4th, 2008 at 9:58 am
It was HRB’s fault, he sexually harassed me and then asked me about football, I was all confused and didn’t know what to do.
