RT wants to be ANYWHERE where LindsAy is…ask him.
December 28th, 2007 at 5:31 pm
Anywhere but Texas.
December 28th, 2007 at 5:51 pm
Sher, there is no fantasy life where I leave the house. Nor do I want to speculate on having a fantasy life on where I leave the house.
Try to imagine a fantasy where you are hugging the toilet and vomiting? It’s hard to do isn’t it?
That’s the same for me trying to imagine leaving the house.
Don’t ever set this sort of scenario up for me again.
December 28th, 2007 at 5:55 pm
OOOhh somebody visited God’s country! That must have been exciting for the little ones! Must return soon to recharge. Of course if Jason ever sets foot in Texas again he will probably burst into flames immediately.
December 28th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
rt I think that we are just as scared of you leaving the house as you are! As far as LinSay when she leaves the house the national alert level rises to Defcon 1!

Texas is a state God made as sort of a warm up to His favorite state, Oklahoma (The Heartland). Just ask famous Oklahomans like Craig Day, Gerry May and Clif Cotton.
December 29th, 2007 at 12:14 pm
Maybe Texas isn’t all that bad once you enter the hill country, but east of Austin is flat, hot, ugly, perpetually under construction, mostly occupied by those doing the work “Americans won’t do”, and has a collective IQ of a colony of fire ants.
December 29th, 2007 at 12:26 pm
Wow, this guy makes Texas seem like paradise compared to Shreveport. You guys gonna take this?

Spencer Hall apparently either lost his shirt gambling on one of our boats, didn’t get the role for which he tried out in our “pandering” efforts toward the movie industry or he dated LindsAy when he was here.
December 30th, 2007 at 4:05 pm
Texas…I messed with it.
December 31st, 2007 at 10:12 am
texas; where two bushes are worse than an obama in the hand. is that gross? is it sexual? i’m confusing myself.
December 31st, 2007 at 11:48 am
Sammy, don’t feel bad. Several of us are confused lesbians on this site.
December 31st, 2007 at 11:51 am
I must say Sher, however entertaining your website is, it is completely useless for intelligent, enlightening dialogue. You need new friends.
December 31st, 2007 at 3:34 pm
You can be that friend, HRB.
December 31st, 2007 at 3:39 pm
“I” want to be HRB’s friend!! Pick Me HRB

Okay, recent vacations: Greek Isles, Italy, Napa Valley, Cabo San Lucus, Bahamas, Maine, Cozumel. Need a couple of new and exciting vacation ideas for this year.
December 31st, 2007 at 4:40 pm
Why not Shreveport HRB?
http://www.shreveport-bossier.org/Visit/visitor.aspx
Travel to Shreveport-Bossier City when you’re looking for something just for you – whether you travel alone or with your family, we have an array of things to keep you busy. Or, we have just enough to help you relax. Take your pick.
When you’re here, you make the rules. Grab your change jar and come on down to our five riverboat casinos and flirt with Lady Luck. Grab your dancing shoes and hit our night spots or put a little sway in your hips at our musical festivals. Hungry? Well, we have Cajun and Creole food you’ve not tasted anywhere else, and Southern favorites that are (shh, don’t tell her) even better than your mama’s. Top it off with a special treat at one of our spas.
There’s something for everyone. Experience a Shreveport-Bossier City vacation today!

HRB, well said. I agree but where I differ is I don’t want new friends. I want to get rid of all my friends and be totally alone.

There has been a lot going on @ sherritalley.com this last week. My vacation is over and that means I will resume posting now that I am in front of the PC again all day. It was a nice week off. I went ice skating, bowling and watched 387 movies both in the theater and on DVD. Did everyone have a good Christmas, Chaunakka or Kwanzaa?
Keeping on the topic, this year I want to go to Sandestin, Gulf Shores or Orange Beach, AL. After going to the beaches in North Carolina for the last 7 or 8 years I am ready to go back to the Redneck Riviera for a week.
Other than that, we haven’t decided yet. Heather wants to go to Paris.
December 31st, 2007 at 7:09 pm
Of course, there are jealous Louisiana and Oklahoma people on here who just have to put down the wonderful state of Texas to feel like their state is so great. Where should I start the list of all of the wonderful things that have come from Texas? ZZ Top, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Matthew McConaughey, Tommy Lee Jones, Pat Green, Dr. Pepper, Whataburger, etc. If you don’t like Texas, then don’t come here, we don’t want you here. To answer this question…I am going to Texas for vacation this year and I’m from here!
December 31st, 2007 at 7:23 pm
Okay, no body be friends with rt anymore. Texasnewsgirl, on the other hand, is in the hot-tub. That firey attitude is good. Honestly it is just Houston I hate, not all of Texas.
CT, Vacationing in Shreveport is analogous to having Thanksgiving dinner at McDonald’s. Unless, of course, you are old, retired, from E. Texas, and love riverboat gambling.
December 31st, 2007 at 8:50 pm
texasnewsgirl, I’ll take Tommy Lee Jones and ZZ Top. You can keep the rest on your side of the border.
HRB, your own uncle, the great songwriter Guy Clark, is from Texas, but writes about Louisiana.
December 31st, 2007 at 8:57 pm
Wait a sec…I let something get by. CT, pics of you ice skating…maybe even on the security cams?

Oh, I’ve never been to Heaven
But I’ve been to Oklahoma
Estes Park, CO is beautiful.
I’ve never been out of the country and have had the urge for the past several months to go to Italy and France.

We should get a road trip together and go see one of Guy’s concerts in 2008 as the Talley vacation. He plays abroad.
January 2nd, 2008 at 10:39 am
A road trip abroad would be difficult considering there is this huge ocean called the Atlantic in the way.
I’m just saying.
January 2nd, 2008 at 10:47 am
rt, you know, getting out of the house is difficult for you.
Suzie, yes, he likes to play in Ireland. LindsAy and I had so much fun at his outdoor concert in Nacogdoches, TX. We went backstage and ate sandwiches with him.

January 2nd, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Hey! If you guys go, can I PLEASE be an “HO”norary member of the Talley clan and go? I don’t like country music, but I LOVED his music and that concert! It was great!!!!!!!!!
P.S.-I had to stop Sher from trying to form a mosh pit at her uncle’s concert. That just wasn’t kosher, gurl…
January 2nd, 2008 at 4:30 pm
We just got back from Disney World and I got my eye cut and mt glasses bent on the Carousel of Progress. That is a rough ride. I also got a 1,000 gallons of water thrown on me at the Back Lot Tour ride but that’s show biz.
January 2nd, 2008 at 6:05 pm
I would like to go see him play again too. Last time I saw him play was ‘96 in B’ham.
January 2nd, 2008 at 7:38 pm

Nellie, care to explain the Dish Network standoff to our peeps from out of town? You brought it up, gurrl.
January 2nd, 2008 at 9:19 pm
OK I just found an article about Dish Network dropping KTBS. So they will carry Al Jazeera but not KTBS?
http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/whats_on_dish/international/channels/index.asp?NetwID=50433
January 2nd, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Well, they carry Sherri Talley. They’re not too discerning it seems. Wink wink.
January 2nd, 2008 at 10:12 pm
Can they do that without providing an alternate ABC affiliate? With Direct TV, if they can’t/don’t provide a local network affiliate then they usually offer you access to that network’s programming from a larger affiliate like NY or LA. Just sayin, I would be pretty mad about this if I was a S’port Dish Network subscriber.

Sorry Sher we have veered way off the vacation topic.
January 2nd, 2008 at 10:17 pm
CT, I sure don’t mind if we get off topic.
If you’d like to know more about our situation with Dish, to to www.ktbs.com and click on the gold and black Urgent bar.
January 2nd, 2008 at 10:25 pm
I think Sherri Talley is quite a dish.
January 2nd, 2008 at 10:31 pm
Way to tie those two subjects together, Big M!
January 3rd, 2008 at 7:21 am
Yup, first time I heard of ‘dish network’ I thought it was a Playboy Affiliate!!!
…But that won’t work if they don’t have Lady S on the tube!
January 3rd, 2008 at 9:11 am
I think it’s time for a new topic. Let’s dish!
January 3rd, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Good grief! Miss a few days miss a lot! I’m just back from Austin, that’s in Texas y’all, and I would love to live there.
Hoping to go to Paris, France! in two years for my 50th birthday. It will be my first time over there.
January 8th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
Big M, I agree with your statement. Except to add that she is not just a dish, she is HOT
