I only go see a couple of movies a year in the theater. This will be one.

I am psyched about “W” too. I heard it’s supposed to be in theaters October 17th.

  2. Jonathan Marston Says:

I don’t really have a comment about this article. I just thought the segment about your son as athlete of the week was a GREAT article. He seems like a great son and you should be proud! Thanks for the article on real people!

  3. Ken Says:

I can’t wait to see this. The first time i saw Batman begins I didn’t think I liked it, then upon re watching it I really enjoyed it, so I am excited about this. But it will be weird seeing the Joker being all dark and scary after seeing Jack play him.

  4. Gerry Says:

Yeah, saw the preview the other night when my wife dragged me over to see the stupid Indiana Jones movie. I’m looking forward to Batman.

  5. Sherri Says:

Yeah, those are the reasons I want to see it, too!

Jonathan Marston: As soon as I can get it copied and uploaded, I’ll post the story on Casey. Thanks! He IS an awesome son. I’ve felt blessed with him since the day I was aware of him!!!!

For now, here’s the link to the story our Rob Brennan did:

  6. George Says:

    Hey Talley,

Many Congrats on Casey - may be gunnin’ for your job!!! (Love the beautiful green couch)!! Hope you took your tax deduction for that “charitable donation”!!!!

  7. Sherri Says:

CT, both KTBS 3’s Trish Williford and I are in the movie, “W”! What fun to work so closely with Oliver Stone! I think I should have gotten stunt pay. I almost hit the ground during a moving news conference scene.

  8. Sherri Says:

Oh! Our commenter and my friend, Mel, is in “W”, too!

  9. Nick C. Says:

Yeah…Rolling Stone magazine actually compared it to Godfather II, so I think I’ll go catch it.

Think the Academy will give a statue to a dead guy this year? Unless Will Smith plays a better alcoholic than Nick Cage in Leaving Las Vegas, then yes.

  10. Sherri Says:

One step ahead of ya, George (my financial dude)! That couch may be going to Louisiana Tech this fall. Can’t claim it and still be legit. Do I get a deduction for being honest?

  11. Sherri Says:

Nick C: Casey and I were talking about the Heath factor this morning. Dang that’s sad. We watched some of his interviews, where some say he appeared addicted to certain drugs. We wondered if he just didn’t like to be interviewed and was nervous. Who knows. It’s a very sad ending, though…to his life…not the movie.

  12. Jody Says:

I’m all over this! I love it! Looks awesome!

  13. tommy Says:

    im in “W” too.

  14. Sherri Says:

tommy, are you the person who made me almost hit the pavement?

  15. Big M Says:

I shot a live shot about a block and a half from where they shot a scene for “W”. Does that count?

As for Batman, I plan on seeing it. But isn’t it getting old…repeating the same old plot/villan…or am I getting old. How long has it been since we first saw Jack’s Joker?

  16. tommy Says:

i would have said hi if we were in the shot together. knock u down….i think not…unless u like that sort of thing… i was in the scene where josh brolin was cutting trees at the crawford ranch and i was a presidential aide……throwing limbs on the fire.

  17. Sherri Says:

“I shot a live shot….”…Big M, that’s TV talk there, Big Guy. You workin’ for the competition? Whatup?

And Big M: This is a very different joker!

tommy, I’ll meet you at the very first www.sherritalley.com get-together, where we’ll all wear nametags and our spouses/sig others will wear nametages that say stuff like, “Ms. tommy”, “Mr. Mel”, “Mrs. HRB”. Will look for you in the movie. I was a reporter (the only real one–the others were actors) in the news conference scene outside the Chamber of Commerce, made up to look like a Texas hotel. It was a hectic news conference and I was crowding Josh Brolin…someone had to do it.

  18. Logan Says:

I’m, like, the biggest Batman fan on the planet. I’ll definitely be checking this one out.

  19. rt Says:

No. Not going to see it. Never liked super heroes and men in capes. Always thought it was a bad fashion choice.

  20. George Says:

I’m a Batman fan from the late 60’s (I was about 10 or 11) when Adam West and Burt Ward (I did have to look up Burt’s name) when the TV showed “Pow”, “Ouch”, etc. phrases on the screen during the fight scenes. Think they actually had 2 episodes every week in which the 1st would leave you hanging and then they would beat up the bad guys in the 2nd weekly episode and life in Gotham City was good again!!

Frank Gorshin was the best Riddler and Burgess Meredith had a great “quacking” sound as the Penquin which I guess he had to drop before trying to coach Rocky to beat up Apollo.

  21. kimmy Says:

this movie might give me nightmares :( he looks scary BUT I already hear oscar buzz

  22. bada bing Says:

You’re right kimmy; there is Oscar buzz for Heath Ledger for a Best Supporting Actor. The film has already had a first-release screening for the media and movie critics; and has been met with rave reviews. Gary Oldman, who plays Lt. James Gordan, was quoted as saying that he wasn’t sure what Ledger tapped into to portray the Joker; but he (Ledger) comes across as a screen villian that he’s never seen before. While some are struggling with a notion to nominate an actor for an Oscar for portrayl of a comic book villian, the movie critics (and media alike) believe that Ledger has a good chance of winning posthumously. While Ledger maintains the amusing qualities that were staples of previous actors (Ceasar Romero & Jack Nicholson) who played the Joker, Ledger takes this character to much more darker depths. Many are comparing Ledger’s Joker with Anthony Hopkins’ Dr. Hannibal Lecter…without the cannibalism of course. The early reviews are saying that one should expect to see armed robberies, bombings with mass explosions, and abductions (definitely, something you may want to consider before carrying the little ones to see this flick). From early reports, this will not be in line with Saturday morning cartoons.
The scarred-pschye of Bruce Wayne will definitely be tested in this one. The first movie of this series has shown Batman to be more of a James Bond type with a suit of armor and technological gadgets…more human than say..Superman. According to movie sources, while the movie has been marketed and geared around Ledger’s Joker, viewers will be surprised to find that a conflicting love triangle between Wayne (Christian Bale), Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal), and Harvey Dent/Two-Face (Aaron Eckhart) will share equal, if not more, time than the conflict arising between Batman and Joker. In fact, due to the violence within Gotham that arises from the criminal factions led by the Joker, there is a “misunderstanding” as to Batman’s role in the grand scheme of things; which leads DA Harvey Dent to call for Batman’s head on the proverbial silver platter (politics at play).
The media asked Aaron Eckhart as to whether Harvey Dent would make the transformation into Two-Face in this movie. While he touted the secrecy of the film, Eckhart was able to confirm that Harvy Dent will, in fact, turn into Two-Face in this film. When pressed about what the transformation will look like, Eckhart just laughed and said that the film crew used a lot of the latest technology. At the last writing, there have been no photos of the Two-Face character; so fans will just have to wait and see.
Others actors returning or being cast will be: Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth - Bruce Waynes’ trusted butler); Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox); Eric Roberts (Salvatore Maroni); and Anthony Michael Hall (Mike Engel).
Cillian Murphy (Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow) will also return for this one; unsure as to what his role will be in this movie. The producers of this series did not believe in necessarily killing off the villians as in the previous series; but rather sticking close to the comic book series (dark as some of them are) as much as possible. In fact, in earlier storyboards, the Joker is supposed to make it into the NEXT installment of this series. If that is so, then it’ll be interesting to see who will reprise the role left by Heath Ledger.

  23. Mel Says:

I think it will be weird with Heath’s death but it almost makes it hard NOT to watch it.

Don’t know if my one day of filming will actually be in “W” but hoping so. We must have one HUGE premier party. My husband and father may be in there as well.

  24. bada bing Says:

    **Spoiler Alert** (of sorts)
Granted, I’ll just give you a little MORE GENERIC overview of what I’ve found out. I can only take so much suspense until I nearly bust a gut to know what happens in a movie of this blockbuster magnitude.
When I say GENERIC overview, I mean just that. I WILL NOT divulge names or SPECIFIC scenarios that set up the events that take place in The Dark Knight. I will say that in addition to what I mentioned in my previous post about the bombings, abductions, and armed robberies…there are also assassination attempts. Again, use caution when considering taking the little ones…this will not be Saturday morning cartoon fare. One of the characters from Batman Begins will meet a tragic ending.
And DO NOT expect a victorious, good-triumphs-over-evil ending. The conclusion of The Dark Knight will be one of a dark and uncertain manner. Bottom line: It will have one of those “to-be-continued” type endings; basically setting you up for the 3rd installment of this Batman series.
Who survives and who doesn’t…well…I’ll let you pay the price of admission to see who’ll make it into the next sequel.

Bar Patron: Dent!!…Geez, I thought you were dead!!
    Harvy Dent/Two Face: (takes a shot)…Half!!

  25. Sherri Says:

bada bing, did you write this plot? Your passion for this movie is inspiring! Revealing your sources?

  26. bada bing Says:

Sherri, I can’t reveal my source..not source(S)..lol!! I had to make a few promises (o.k. bribes) and twist an arm ever so slightly to get as much as I did out of them. But, as much as I’d like to divulge about the film, I WILL NOT ruin it for everybody else. Besides, I’m quite sure that there are some that would take exception to me telling them what happens. So, I will leave it to the imaginative minds of movie-goers until July 18th when it’s released. However, there may be some early (midnight) screenings on July 17th at some of the area theaters…you’ll have to check on that, I’m not certain.

Joker: Why..so..serious?? Let’s put a smile on that face of yours!!

  27. Sherri Says:

“This city deserves a better class of criminal.”

  28. Sherri Says:

Mel, Skip’s in W? What? How cool is that?

bada bing, you rock for not revealing your sources. I always have to ask, but I would so NOT reveal mine!

  29. bada bing Says:

“‘Sherri’..got a little fight in ya…I like that!!”

By the way, Gerry May seems to be the silent, quiet type compared to the rest of the KTBS bunch…he doesn’t have a Bat suit hanging in his closet does he??

And I DO believe that Fletch would make a good replacement as Joker….picture Fletch in a green dress shirt, purple pant suit, white face, dark shade about the eyes, and red-painted lips with wind-blown hair…I think he could pull it off.

Joe actually kind of resembles Aaron Eckhart’s character (Harvey Dent/Two Face)…Is that REALLY Joe’s face while he’s doing the weather or does KTBS have a good make-up department??

If they ever decided to go with a sidekick in this series, Rob Brennan could possibly pass as the Boy Wonder (Robin)…Holy, instant replay Batman!!

I’m not quite sure who could fill out the Catwoman suit the best amongst the KTBS “divas”. Leather suits, whips, and attitude…oh my!!

“It’s ALL part of the plan.”
