Tell the News
Thanks to bc317 and CT, we have a new category I’ll post for you regularly. Here, you can post comments on any news event, locally or nationally. Since so many of you are from outside the Ark-La-Tex, maybe you can help educate the rest of us about issues around the country. Talk about the news event of your choice.
This way, you don’t have to say you’re sorry for hijacking a post. According to the movie, “Love Story”, love means never having to say you’re sorry.

Sher, did you DANCE to “Love Story” in the Miss Oklahoma PAGEANT?!?!?
Here’s MY news:
This morning, I ate dry Cheerios with Granola and 5 Doritos for breakfast. That makes me MUCH BETTER than any of you cats.

This isn’t news, but I love mercury laden products. I am a sushi freak. I’ll buy large chucks of raw tuna and eat it breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I like the word chunks.
HRB, do you always like chunks of lead toys from China?

I eat lead paint chips off the window sill

Breaking news from environmentalists Nina Totenberg of NPR: Panelists discuss ways to wage a greener war in Iraq, such as driving biodegradable tanks and shocking detainees with wind power.

I think they’re also feeding detainees soy milk and tofu burgers.

Hey Sherri!
It’s been a minute! Well, since this talks about news, and I’m sure I would be one to talk, let’s talk about how sometimes our industry is bias!
Sorry to use your site as my personal soapbox, but this is the right time and place for me.
I can’t get into details about any specific story, because ironically, I find in retrospect it’s done more often than we would like to admit as journalists.
Let’s just say, there’s always 3 sides to a story: either side and the truth that’s somewhere in the middle.
I felt the urge to write that because I’m patiently waiting for the day I can look at the headlines and actually trust them.
Growing up, I wanted to be in news because I trusted the news people so much. I also worked to gain trust. Now it’s like trust is a lost treasure and it’s easily broken.
When I went into journalism, I was asked by my professor, “Why do yuo want to do that?” I responded simply, “Because I HATE the news and how it ruins peoples’ lives.” Never thought those words would be so powerful in my own life.
However, don’t take this in a sad tone. I’m writing to talk about news and my point is IT STINKS. I HATE the news business, yet I LOVE people .. so I WORK TO BE FAIR, BALANCE AND OBJECTIVE.
Love ya!

*** THE ABOVE RESPONSE WAS IN NO WAY REFLECTIVE OF SHERRITALLEY.COM OR ANYONE ON HERE. IT WAS A SIMPLE STATEMENT OF HOW I FEEL ABOUT NEWS. SHERRI’S AWESOME AND I LOVE HER REPORTING/ANCHORING! ***
