Team Nation - Cody Temple
Job Title: Technical Director at KTBS 3
Hometown: Haughton, LA
“I love playing all sports. Golf, football, baseball, basketball. I play basketball the most but I’ve never been very good. I like to play any sport.”
Favorite thing about your job: “I like being in control and always having something new to do. I never really know what to expect until I get to work. I also like a fast-paced environment, although it seems to be slowing down, or maybe I’m just getting faster.”
Your inspiration: “First of all I say Jesus..But also my mom, dad and especially my brother.”
Your family: Dad–Terry, Mom–Vicki, Brother–Shawn…And the 18 year old blind, deaf, toothless dog Kato.
Anything people might be surprised to learn about you: “I am deathly afraid of spiders. I once burned a pair of shoes with a blow torch because a spider had made a nest in them.”
Favorite food: “I’m a fan of all food, but my favorite would have to be Mexican.”
Favorite saying: “Second place is the first loser.” (I obviously hate to lose at anything)“My biggest challege was trying to learn spanish. I took three semesters of it and still can’t say or read a sentence. It’s complete gibberish to me. It’s a shame because I would really like to be able to speak a second language.”
Fantasy job: “I think owning a catamaran in Hawaii that takes tourists out snorkeling every morning would be the perfect job. I think I would work about 5 hours each day and spend the rest of the day lying around relaxing. Then I would make Sparky clean my boat.”
Music: Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, The Eagles, The Beatles. This is about all I ever listen to in my iPod.

Got a keeper here. I used to umpire his baseball games when he was younger and also knew him as I worked with his mother, Vicki, when I was at BPCC some years ago. Good luck Cody.

You the man Cody. I love working with Cody he’s laid back relaxed and anything goes. I think that we work well together and always have each others back. When I need off he’s always there and I do the same for him. We don’t even schedule with Jason we just cover the shifts ourself. Jason just seems to throw a kink in it! (LOL) But seriously Cody’s a great guy to work with that also has a lot of talent. Cody thanks for covering this week as I have been on the road with Sports and Earthlink from Monroe to Baton Rouge! And Congratulations on GRADUATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cody is such an awesome guy! He’s a hard worker, has a great attitude and is very talented at what he does. As Suthrnman said, he’s a keeper!

A keeper for sure! Here’s how it goes: Major chaos in the newsroom when news happens, as it does often. Some people filing into place…some people freaking out…some, gettin’ it done as fast as possible. Then, there’s Cody: First, available- present - calm -then, accomplishing WHATEVER is put before him with accuracy and professionalism almost unmatched. I say almost, because Chuck Norris is reading this blog and I’m not completely up on my disability insurance.

Cody is definitely a keeper in my book, but as his proud mom I’m a little biased. Cody always gives 110% to accomplish a task. He does NOTHING half-way. He is the real deal; he is what he says he is. He has an excellent work ethic along with a HUGE heart. Cody genuinely cares for other people. He will help anyone who needs help. He’ll work for them, he’ll help them move, he’ll drop what he’s doing and come to change/fix a flat tire for his mom, he’ll get out of bed to go pick up a friend in the middle of the night, etc…We are so proud of him and can’t wait to watch him graduate Wednesday night. GRADUATION DAY - Whoo Hoo!!!

Thanks for making my job easeier by bringing this one into the world, Vicki!
Cody–I like how you’re drinking Hawaiian Punch while you ‘punch’ the show!
Where is graduation Wednesday night?
May 12th, 2008 at 8:14 pm
Graduation is at Century Tel - 7:00 p.m. (I’ll be the one standing in my chair!) LOL

ha ha ha…that was my hawaiian punch…i mean…hawaiian punch is not allowed in production so we don’t know who’s punch that was!

Ok, so I was just joking about “the take the job in Hawaii thing),and, now that everyone has gone where I originally wanted to go with this– Thanks for starting it off– I agree 100% with all of you.
All bias aside– Cody is by far the hardest worker I have ever met. Having worked 2 years with him — he definitely keeps that place going… He makes sure everyone is in place and ready to go. He tries to make sure the talent is comfortable and completely prepared for every show. He communicates with everyone involved and makes sure everything is under control.
He’s never satisfied with just doing his job, he always keeps a watchful eye to make sure every single thing is correct and ready.
As a producer he made my life so much easier than anyone could ever imagine. And, as a person– he’s definitely made it more perfect than I could ever pray for.
He’s not only a remarkable professional– but also an incredible christian man.

Cody’s cool in my book. If he was ever in a fight with a bunch of people at once, for whatever strange reason, I’d help him out.
May 13th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
He’s a good bowler?!
Okay, I’m really not good at being sappy on a blog.
He knows I think the world of him.

And I’m no longer bitter about not getting a souvenir from Vegas. I’m not.
May 13th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
I’m not.
May 16th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
