Dish it Out
My restaurant experience today prompted me to bring back the rant category. What if, when you go to the counter to pick up your meal, you don’t want to be summoned by someone shouting everything you ordered in earshot of all the other patrons? How about a name or a number?  I mean, what if I wanted to order something like lamb guts and sprouts and didn’t want to get cool glances?  I’m just sayin’.Â

So I try not to eat at restaurants that shout out food orders, have a drive thru, or some type of giant mascot. Just a suggestion.

You shouldn’t eat at a restaurant that has ‘lamb guts’ on the menu. And if you do eat at such a restaurant that serves things like ‘lamb guts’ and God knows what other twisted menu items you seem to be interested in, you should be exposed for the things you are ordering.
You could be a potential cannibal serial killer. It’s precisely these sorts of things the public should know about!
Come to think of it, we should come to your house now and inspect your refrigerator.

This is not about me. It’s about rants. That means, when I post a personal story, you’re to comment on similar experiences. Instead, you guys are offering sarcastic advice on my life. This is why I love this site! You don’t do what you’re supposed to do. You’re like rebel commenters. Wait, that’s so docile…

Here’s a rant: How about those bitch heads that drive slow in the left lane? They suck. Oh, and taxes really piss me off too.

That’s what I’m talkin bout HRB. Driving slow in the left lane should be a felony. Why is it so difficult for so many people to grasp that slower traffic should keep right?

Y’all know I was kidding, right?

And what’s the deal with airline food?
Kidding, I have been watching a lot of Seinfeld this week.

HRB, brownie points for using “bitch head.”
Secondly Sher, I don’t APPRECIATE you ordering “lamb guts.” What did little lambs ever do to EWE?!?!?
Thirdly, I was once with my father at some resturant. (childhood memory…or one that I am imagining) He asked the waitress if she had frog legs. She said “yes.” Then dad said “Well, hop back to the kitchen and get me some chicken.”

P.S.-Lamb guts come a la mode at Strawn’s, gurl.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:33 am
P.S.S.-At what restaurant were you?

My rant is the waitstaff that tries to impress you by not writing everything down, so they keep having to ask you what you ordered and someone’s food always ends up wrong. Impressive huh?

OK everybody, on your next long weekend, get in the LEFT LANE of I-20 westbound. Set your GPS to 5450 West Lovers Lane, Dallas, TX. In about three hours, you’ll be at Cafe Istanbul. They serve absolutely the best kokorec in the western hemisphere, and no one will know what you ordered but you and your server (who, as I recall, writes down your order). They serve it skewered and grilled, or sauteed with tomatoes, peppers and turkish spices. Either way it’s OFFAL good!
