Come on in the newsroom!

image001.jpg

Want the news from work?  Need information on Ike, but don’t want to wait until the 5pm news?  We’re live again this afternoon at 3:00 with the webcam/chat from my desk in the KTBS 3 newsroom.  Today begins Thursdays at Three for this format.  It’s one of the fastest, most personal ways of getting news there is.  It’s very casual.  I gather the latest information and interview others reporters, photographers and authorities to get you what you need on a topic (today, it’s Ike).  Meteorologist Marcy Novak has been working on info. about evacuations and will have the latest on Ike’s path an the effect it’s forecasted to have on the ArkLaTex.

Just look for this icon today at 3:00 on www.ktbs.com.  Click and join us in the live chat.  We’ll probably stay live today for about an hour.   Hope to talk with you!

Loved this SAL. Checked in for a while yesterday. Loved it. Please give all the credit to Steve Anderson for me so I can get under Brad’s skin! As for Jason, well, I am sure he had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Thanks, CWA! I’m sure Brad and Jason miss you even more after your comment! :) Nice to have you there today. Jump in with news from BR anytime. Isn’t it funny how neither of us still have the initials by which our former computer codes were given, and yet we will probably forever call each other by that name? Yes, we actually address one another by SAL and CWA. Probably always will.

Thanks to everyone who jumped in on the live chat today…I recognized a lot of people from this site. (HRB’s workin’ on his audio connection). I love this webcam stuff…wish news were like this all the time. It’s so fun to be able to talk outside of a news/script format. Thanks to Brad The Webmaster (BTW), KTBS and Webmeister Terry Heaton for allowing and encouraging us to experiment with this! We’ll do everything we can to continue to do it justice.

Hey Sherri, did you hear that Chris Redford is adding a new element to his blog. It’s called “Redford’s Rant”. It’s a live chat/webcam from Caddo Correctional every Thursday at 3:00PM. You might want to check it out at www.chrisredford.com.

…and no, he didn’t pay me to say that.

I had a blast on there yesterday. I can recommend that if you turn your sound off and try to get Sherri to respond visually, it makes her more animated. I wasn’t convinced she was reading my posts until I acused her of drinking beer. She immediately held up her bottle of water to the camera. Ya’ll need to join in not to miss these precious moments.

  6. HRB Says:

Hazel and Jimmy are staying with me during the hurricane. It is likely that they will be whisked away in the wind and never heard from again.

  7. Sherri Says:

HRB, Hazel and Jimmy are the only people evacuating south!

i just returned from there, and as an eye witness..its worse than anything i could ever think of…we took water, gas, and food..offered all the moral support we could, but they are in a world of hurt…tell some one..
