Brandon

Taking a break here to ask for your help.  This is Brandon.  We invited him to ride on the KTBS float in the Bossier Christmas Parade.  Some 60 stories on foster children ago, Brandon was the first child I profiled.  While more than half of the children we’ve profiled have been placed in permanent homes, Brandon is still without a family of his own.  He’s 15 and living in the Rutherford House in Shreveport.  Brandon loves to fish and spend time outdoors and really needs a strong father figure.  We all know so many people.  Keeping in mind that you can adopt across state lines, will you pass this number along to anyone who might be open to learning more about the adoption process and opening their home to Brandon?  It’s a big thing to consider, but also extremely gratifying.  We don’t want to see Brandon age out of the foster care system.  The statistics aren’t good for children who never get the structure and love of a permanent family.  Thank you guys!  Here’s the number for the Louisiana Department of Social Services.  318-676-5048.

This site has been filled with great humor and fun. This last post by Sher also shows the serious and much appreciated side of this site.

It’s been a priviledge to participate in a site like this.

In the tradition of LindsAy……..I misspelled ‘privilege.’

Wow! Can we have some chirping birds from a Rick Rowe story to go with the silence around here that follows a serious posting?

  5. Kimmy Says:

not until February will we hear chirping birds…let’s have a moment of silence…..

  6. LindsAY Says:

    LindsAy is attaching her silencer…

I DO hope Brandon finds a loving home…ESPECIALLY during the CHRISTMAS season!

  7. Danny Says:

Sher, you have an empty nest now….

Bro, appreciate you informing the public that my house is often vacant. Believe me, I’ve come very close to adopting several of these children. I thought, as a single mom working nights, that my services would be put to better use trying to help find two-parent homes for them. But you know, as time goes on and I see more and more kids age out of the system, I wonder about that. No home is perfect, but I know Brandon needs a father.

If there is anything else the public wants to know about SAT, just let me know.

Just remember if you use birds chirping in the background you must fill out an outside music form. We must pay the proper people!!

  11. Sherri Says:

Sparky, that’s only if the birds are chirping to a licensed song. Random chirping is public domain.

  12. Sparky Says:

Well then you make the check payable to Public Domain. Come on Sherri I know that you are smarter than that!

  13. LindsAY Says:

Wait, if I volunteer to come in and voice some “chirping”, can I get paid?

Rick Rowe’s birds chirp all year long!
