Call me crazy, but I just don’t get the thing with the babies.

  2. rt Says:

HRB…….I get it totally! Things are about to get out of hand here. Time to build a nuke bunker!!!!

  3. HRB Says:

    Well then explain it.

  4. rt Says:

I can’t. Not for public consumption.

  5. Sherri Says:

What’s to get? They’re obviously Athletes of the Week?

  6. Chrissi Says:

Congrats Hazel and Jimmy! I so proud of you!!!!

  7. George Says:

RT - remember the nuke bunkers when we were kids? I grew up in Baton Rouge and guess timeframe was about 1964 or so when I was a kid - but man around the corner built him a nuke basement. Every now and then he would let us go down there - remember the stacks of canned goods along the wall, seems like he also had a six pack of Jax on the shelf too. Went back for one of LSU football games this season and met my 1975 high school prom date for lunch (my almost 14 year old son was with us to, so no remarks from anyone else))and we rode thru the old neighborhood and rode by Mr. Adams house - remembered his bunker. However, you don’t EVEN drive thru that part of BR any more!!

I’m with HRB. The “Hazel and Jimmy” thing is starting to bug me a bit. Who are they? What’s the significance? Hey, I read this blog every day. Doesn’t that entitle me to an explanation? What if I beg? Pretty please with a cherry on top???????

  9. MaryS910 Says:

Never mind, I googled it. Thank you Terry Heaton! I vaguely remembered hearing about the painting but didn’t recall the names. Why would any painter do that to those poor babies? I wonder if they were real and what they grew up to look like…

How did you come up with the names Hazel and Jimmy, btw?

  10. HRB Says:

With nothing better to do than lie in bed with the flu and surf the web, I think I’ve figured it out. Hazel and Jimmy are two babies with Progeria, an accelerated aging disease.

  11. CT Says:

They may be Siamese twins, or maybe they are just sitting really close. My second theory is that they so happy because Michael Jackson is baby sitting them.

  12. turtle Says:

Hmmm, plastic babies, reminds me of mardi gras

  13. sherri Says:

MaryS910, didn’t know you could Google H&J already. Thanks.

CT and HRB, careful now. bros. How do you know you’re not related to Hazel and Jimmy?

Welcome, turtle. Yeah…those plastic babies in king cakes. You know, there’s a smaller chance you’ll choke on Hazel and Jimmy. According to the FDA, they might actually be good for your health.

  14. Lou Says:

….im gettin choked up just thinkin about hazel and jimmy…how far those two have come ,considering well you know,……no i just cant talk about it!!!

  15. sherri Says:

I know, Lou. It’s tough. Thanks for trying to express yourself.

  16. turtle Says:

They remind me of the old days of Toy Fair, kinda dating myself. Thanks Sherri for adding entertainment to the area. If people think your picture freaky, they ought to check out the obits when the freky outdated pictures are shown. Saw one day a lady already decomposing,LOL, looked like it to me.
