How much is too much?

KTBS Crime Team reporter Chris Redford can tweet a picture from a crime scene faster than a bird can chirp in a Rick Rowe story.
I love looking for the next emerging techo gadget/method of communicating, but good grief! Let me count the ways! Can someone consolidate all the vehicles we use to reach out and techno-touch someone?
Don’t get me wrong. I like it. It’s fun. We, as a station, are immersed, even industry leaders in many areas of new media. I’ve renewed relationships with about a dozen family members across the U.S. via Facebook. Twitter is a speedy tool for breaking news. Our reporters snap a picture, email it to pix@ktbs.com, text info. and post it to www.ktbs.com as news events are happening.
On the other side, there’s a lot of talk about the onslaught of technology interferring with relationships. Many say the most important thing you can give someone is your attention and it’s flat out rude to carry on with your techno ways in the presence of another person in a social setting. Do you agree? How saturated are you in technology? Does it enhance or reduce the quality of your life and relationships? Is texting in someone’s presence any different from watching TV with them?
Please respond by commenting here or on www.ktbs.com, texting, tweeting, on Facebook, with a YouTube video, sending email or on a live webcast. Just don’t write a letter or tell me in person. I might become disoriented. :)
