Understanding the Bain 9000

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

The Bain 9000 is a term we affectionately use to describe all things technological for which our news director, Randy Bain, has a passion.  Bain, a former chief photographer at KTBS 3 News, can utilize scraps of metal from Transformer toys and electrical wiring and such purchased from the Goodwill store he haunts almost daily to create crystal clear digital images on your television screen and on www.ktbs.com.  We’re not sure how he does it.

Today is Job Shadow Day at KTBS.  Usually, students want to hang out with reporters or anchors, but today two bright Captain Shreve High School students wanted to see how the engineering side of television/internet broadcasting works.  So, they tagged along with The Bain 9000.  KTBS 3’s Ed Walsh is your interpreter.
