See what happens when you’re late? My son Casey came by the station, I thought to see me. Turns out, he might have wanted to say hi to Chrissi Coile. Â
The survivor walk is traditionally the kickoff to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. I recorded this last night at Lee Hedges Stadium in Shreveport.Â
This is a celebration of life. As these people walk by, know that some have been in remission for many years, some are wonders (a 22-year-old woman with cancer of the womb was told she would never have children. You can see her one-year-old daughter walking with her) and for many, it took all the energy they could muster to make it to the track as they are undergoing chemotherapy.
All of these people are brave and inspiring.Â
