Commenter ”G” pointed out what a bummer it is to train hard and actually win a prestigious race like Boston, only to be upstaged by someone taller, just because you couldn’t reach the tape to break it at the finish line. 

Okay, I need your help.  This blogging thing is so new to journalism (not to everyone else, but to some of us) that I need to know:  Do you agree that scrolling is just no big deal?  Here’s the latest from the Poynter Institute on that.  I ripped it off blogmeister Terry Heaton’s PoMo Blog.   He won’t mind.  Or else.

The situation:  Today, I was trying to track via satellite locals competing in the Boston Marathon.  At the same time, I had three other posts I could have thrown up for you.  Would you rather I stay with one subject or would you rather scroll down and see if there are other subjects you consider more comment-worthy?  You can handle more than one topic a day, right?  Or am I going to get, “Dang it, I was still on the Boston Marathon and you go and throw some crud about scrolling up there, then make me scroll like there’s no tomorrow to get to Boston?”   

I don’t want to read some fancy poll on what you want.  Tell me what you want.  Thanks!      

The following are among the local athletes who competed in the 2008 Boston Marathon this morning.  Thanks to each of you for inspiring those of us who are coming back from injuries, those just discovering the joy of running and anyone trying to ‘go for it’ no matter what the endeavor.

10:20am (CST), KTBS 3 Meteorologist Joe Haynes, at the 15K (more than 9 miles) mark into the Boston Marathon, is maintaining a 6:58 per mile pace.  Go, Joe!
