Another Name Change for Local News Anchor
Tuesday, April 1st, 2008This time, it’s her first name.
SHREVEPORT (AF) — Associated FreeNews says local news anchor/reporter Sherri Talley is changing her name again. “I can’t stop,” says Talley.
The change, effective immediately, will involve Talley’s first name. “I really like the name Julie. I had a babysitter by that name once and I work with a real nice girl named Julie,” says Talley.
When approached about the name change, the second this year for Talley, station management was unaware of the action. “We try to encourage our employees to embrace change and Miss Talley Allen Jones …uh, Smith is leading the way with that.”
The changes have been excellent for the Shreveport economy. Some 150 jobs have been added to the station in an effort to keep up with the changes.
New positions include graphics personnel to regularly change the superimposed images on the screen, an internet team will be put in place with the sole purpose of locating new urls as the names change and some six aids will accompany Ms. Talley to the news set nightly in an effort to help her remember which name to say on the air.
