Breaking News
Before we get to the tagline winner and the 80s pic of me some of you are pressuring me to post, here’s a little diversion. My co-anchor at KTBS www.ktbs.com is Gerry May. He came here from Boise, Idaho. After he was here for about a year, he and I were talking and realized that not only were we attending the same elementary school in OKC at the same time, we lived around the corner from one another. Gerry’s mother sent him this year book from Western Village School, 1970-71. It’s a small world.Â

Wow, that is pretty cool.

CUTE!

OK everybody, know which one Sherri is on that hard-hitting newspaper staff?
By the way, Sherri blew everyone away in the school’s jump rope competition.

Hey everyone. Ya know that portrait of Sherri that she uses to get the cat off of the roof with….well, I have THE picture of Sherri standing next to the portrait right after it was painted. The resemblance is uncanny. Because of the ’80’s hair, clothes, etc., Sherri is reluctant to post this picture on her site. She just needs some encourgment from you all to post it. Let her know that she is amoungst friends here and that there will be no sneering or jeering or giggling, but only oooh’s and aaaah’s at her timeless beauty.

Yeah, Gerry…remember when that crack newspaper staff uncovered all sorts of political corruption back in the 70s? That’s when KTBS hired me…straight out of the sixth grade!
HRB, hittin’ low, aren’t ya, bro? I have a very thick skin when it comes to criticism about my appearance, but this is extreme 80s –as Tommy says– hilarity!

Trivia: The boy to my right in this pic gave me his mother’s jewelry for Valentine’s Day in the 5th grade. He left it on my front porch. Mom made me return it.
January 22nd, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Brilliant. I can’t believe I never thought of that.
January 23rd, 2008 at 11:16 am
OH MY GOD, HRB! I LOOOOOOOOOOVE that painting of Sher. It is basically one of my FAVORITE things EV-ER. I have tried to swipe it on numerous occasions. PLEASE PLEASE post that pic you have!
Also, Sher? They hired you out of the 6th grade? I didn’t think KTBS existed in 1909.
January 23rd, 2008 at 11:52 am
Sherri has to post the pic. She wisely refused to give me permissions to post to her site. I guess she doesn’t trust me. I may, however, sell it on ebay.
January 23rd, 2008 at 2:45 pm
I think we should all have permissions to post pictures.
January 23rd, 2008 at 3:23 pm
back in the 60’s…..sigh….we had class pictures taken. the shakey old photog shuffled in to the classroom, sat up his camera and lights, and we all froze in position at out desks. i sat next to Harry F. (three times voted ‘most flatulent child in caddo parish’) 5 seconds before the pic was taken harry produced what was later known as “the killer green zephyr” of 61. the result……28 kids in mrs. winns 4th grade class crosseyed or retching, preserved forever on kodak paper!….hilarity ensued !

Here’s a new topic that I am taking it upon myself to “topic-cize”…
“WHAT WERE YOU VOTED IN HIGH SCHOOL?”
January 23rd, 2008 at 4:11 pm
I was voted 4 things:
1.) Biggest Klutz (no surprise there)
2.) Worst Hypochondriac
3.) Worst Driver (again, no suprise)
4.) Most Gullible (I DO contest this!)
***Why am I admitting to all of this?***
I WILL say I WAS and AM STILL THE CUTEST of my classmates! Don’t believe me? I have my 10-year reunion picture in my computer…don’t MAKE me break it out! I’ll wield it!
January 23rd, 2008 at 4:34 pm
i wuz voted “most likely to die of ringworms.” comes from being a natural cat magnet.
January 23rd, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Cats have nine lives. That comment just cost you 8 1/2 of them.
January 23rd, 2008 at 5:37 pm
but i luvz cats !
January 23rd, 2008 at 8:18 pm
HRB, weren’t you voted something? You were Capt. Shreve’s student council president. I was the only girl to letter in four sports at my high school in upstate NY, but wasn’t voted anything.
Tommy, they make a saave for that ringworm.
LindsAy, remember when I caught you and Jennifer Gray driving off with that painting? Hoodlums. And the pic of me in full 80s regalia standing in front of the painting actually might trigger convulsions. You know how prone to those you are, gurrrl.
January 23rd, 2008 at 9:38 pm
I want to see the “cute” pictures LindsAy. Sherri really needs to let us post pictures here.
I was voted most likely to succeed, and best lover.
One of those is a lie.
January 23rd, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Sher, POST the collage I MADE of myself…haha!
I still think you should have a “page ‘o regulars”…
Sher, it’s “saalve” (the “l” is silent)…I’m not kidding, Mrs. Grammer. And gurl, you know I don’t get “no” convulsions anymore (said in YOUR Southern accent)
HRB…stop raping my mind with your posts…hah!
January 23rd, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Actually, it’s “salve”…yes, I’m correcting MYSELF.

Patty Collins was my dream gurl in the 3rd grade at Southdowns Elem. in BR - you know, the Marcia Brady looking gal with long, straight blonde hair to the middle of her back. Of course, all the guys liked Patty and I don’t think she knew I existed.
However, a plain looking, tom-boyish gal named Francis sat next to me. She had short hair (none of the gals had short hair back then), needed braces and really could not compare to Patty. Frances used to slip notes to me telling me she liked me, yada, yada, yada….and I just blew Frances off. Changed elementary schools after the 3rd grade and went closer to where I lived, so never saw some of these folks again.
OK - fast forward to NSU fraternity house in late 70’s - probably Christmas break. Me and frat bros - drinking beer and watching LSU play in some bowl game - halftime - none of us paying attention until they started introducing the Orange Bowl (or some fruit) court. Wow, some really great looking gals and the tv room at the frat house grew quiet as the introductions were being made (except for a lewd comment or two). And then the Queen - by far, the best looking “gurl” yet - tall, slender - (think we would have said “foxy” back then - my kids say “hot” now)!!! The stadium announcer said “And introducing the 1978 (or whatever year) Orange (or whatever fruit) Bowl Queen - from LSU, Francis Moore from Baton Rouge….”
Same Francis - Damn!
January 23rd, 2008 at 11:56 pm
Sher - post the pic (i.e. your pic).
January 24th, 2008 at 3:37 am
George, if you had married Francis in the third grade I don’t think it would have lasted.
Just trying to make you feel better.
January 24th, 2008 at 9:15 am
Isn’t Francis a talking mule anyway?
January 24th, 2008 at 9:42 am
RT, yeah, she is probably a super model today - lot’s of travel, huge modeling contract/compensation package, lot’s of attention, magazine covers and guys drooling over her. HA, who would want to be married to that deal!! Thanks, I feel much better.
LindsAy, I know of Mr. Ed, the talking horse - Francis, the mule???
January 24th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
i think HRB was voted most likely to never wear a shirt
January 24th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Please, charlesm , I’m a lesbian.
January 24th, 2008 at 3:16 pm

January 25th, 2008 at 3:45 pm

CT, I don’t understand how that’s off topic one bit. That’s great! I love live TV.
